The Export Managers' Index (EMI) fell by 2.9 points in the third quarter to 56.1. The decline is due to companies' less optimistic outlook for the future.
However, Business Sweden notes that the index remains above the historical average of 55.4. A value above 50 indicates that more export companies believe in an improvement than a weakening in export conditions.
"The risks in the global economy, not least the war in the Middle East, remain but do not seem to weigh on export companies to any great extent," says Lena Sellgren, chief economist at Business Sweden, in a press release.
