National captain Martina Aronsson has selected a 22-swimmer squad, 10 women and 12 men, which may be supplemented after the Swedish Championships at the end of July.
Sarah Sjöström's comeback after becoming a mother last year is welcome. She will be making her first championship appearance since winning the Olympic double gold in the 50 and 100 metre freestyle in Paris 2024.
"It is very pleasing that Sarah is back in the championship context. Her capacity, experience and ability to perform during championships are well known. At the same time, she will be an important part of the team, both in the pool and on the sidelines," says Aronsson in a press release.
The European Championship will be held from August 10-16.
