According to the plan, financing solar cell plants would lead to Sweden being able to claim emission reductions of 165,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalents by 2030.
In 2023, the Swedish Energy Agency signed an agreement with the Swedish company Stella Futura to implement the project, but it has not yet presented an approved project plan.
According to SVT's review, no emission reductions have been confirmed and the project is now being stopped.
We believe that the schedule cannot be met, says Sara Sundberg, head of department at the Swedish Energy Agency.
