Lucas Raymond was behind all three goals as his Detroit beat the New York Islanders 3–2 at home.

The first Swede to score was the opposing team's Emil Heineman with a 1–0 score in the fifth minute. The Islanders maintained the lead throughout the rest of the period and the second period was completely scoreless.

But then Detroit took a big step forward. Rookie Axel Sandin-Pellikka tied the game, on an assist from compatriot Raymond, and then things continued to get tough for the team. Raymond scored two more goals and the team was finally able to secure the victory with a score of 3–2.

Raymond, who managed to collect three points during the match, was named one of the best players of the match.

We are strong. It shows that we don't give up. We are down by one goal but the game is far from over, we kept fighting and knew that if we were patient we would get our chances, Sandin-Pellikka said after the game in an interview on Detroit's X account .

With tonight's goal, the Gällivaresonen has scored seven points in Detroit's last seven games.
