Companies believe in a marginally better situation in six months, but expect that a significant improvement will take longer than that, writes the Central Bank in a press release.

A majority of the surveyed companies assess that they will be affected to a small extent if the USA introduces import tariffs. However, there is great uncertainty about the outcome since not everything is clear yet regarding the design of the potential tariffs.

The Central Bank regularly interviews Sweden's largest companies within industry, construction, trade, and parts of the service sectors. Representatives from 44 companies and trade organizations, with a total of around 300,000 employees, were interviewed via visits, phone, or web-based services. The interviews were conducted mainly during the period of January 31–February 7, 2025.
