The Swedish economy continued to rise slightly in August, but is still at a lower level than normal, according to the National Institute of Economic Research's (KI) monthly barometer.

The upturn in the economy occurs for the second month in a row. In the industry, the mood is relatively normal, in line with the historical average.

"But households are still more pessimistic than normal", writes KI.

The upturn in the business sector occurs on a broad front and encompasses all sectors, where retail trade stands out with a more optimistic attitude than normal.
