Mol and Sørum got off to a good start in Saquarema and won the first set 21–16. In the second, the Swedes gained more control of the game and pressured the Norwegians, but it was still not enough to stop them.
The Norwegian victory was secured with 23–21 in the second set.
"It's perhaps the best team of all time. Anders Mol is a damn good player, blocks well and serves well. Sørum is a good player and hard to get hold of," Hölting Nilsson told SVT.
I think we played quite well. It's a little sad that we made a few mistakes of our own.
