"There was a loss for David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig in the second group stage match in the Beach Volleyball World Championship. It's sad, of course, of course. We didn't reach the same level as we did yesterday," Hellvig tells SVT.

The Brazilian pair of Andre and Renato beat the Swedish Olympic gold medalists in two straight sets, 21–17, 21–19. The Brazilian duo was in control for most of the match and the Swedes had to struggle to catch up.

The Swedes had a particularly difficult time getting into decisive offensive situations, Jonathan Hellvig notes after the match.

When we have a bit of a hard time in our attack, we don't manage to win, he tells SVT.

A Swedish comeback in the first set improved the scores while the pairs were tied in the second set before Andre and Renato were able to decide on the first match point.

However, the chance of making the playoffs remains. Åhman/Hellvig won the first match in the tournament and on Sunday the final group stage match awaits the Swedes against George and Saymon from Brazil.

Jacob Hölting Nilsson and Elmer Andersson, on the other hand, won their second match in the Beach Volleyball World Championship and are already qualified for the playoffs.

The Swedish pair beat the British pair Javier and Joaquin Bello in two straight sets, 21–14, 21–13.

The Swedish world number three also won their first match on Friday, top Group G and are ready for the round of 16 that will begin the World Cup playoffs in Adelaide, Australia.
