Kristian Karlsson and Mattias Falck were hopeless in the round of 16 of China Smash. The Chinese pair Wang Chuqin and Lin Shidong were too tough and the Swedes lost with 0–3 in sets.

After a pleasant match in the first round, it's now a complete stop for Kristian Karlsson and Mattias Falck in the doubles tournament in the major event China Smash in Beijing.

In the round of 16, the world's second-best Wang Chuqin and Lin Shidong were waiting – and in front of an enthusiastic home audience, the Chinese duo showed why they belong to the world elite. The match was one-sided, and the Swedes had a hard time getting a grip on the tempo.

The winning numbers were 11–8, 11–5, 11–5 for the Chinese.

Thus, the doubles adventure is over for Karlsson and Falck. However, for Karlsson, a new chance awaits already in the singles tournament's round of 16. There, he will face Lin Shidong.

Earlier on Wednesday, Karlsson also lost in the mixed doubles quarterfinals, along with Stina Källberg, against the Chinese pair Yuan Licen and Yidi Wang.
