It initially seemed to be an easy win for Källberg and Karlsson in the World Championship tournament China Smash. The pair led 2–0 in sets, but Mattias Falck and Barbora Várady came back and took two straight sets to take the match to a deciding set.
There, however, Källberg/Karlsson were strongest. On the fourth match point, the advancement to the quarterfinals was secured. There, the Chinese pair Yuan Licen/Wang Yidi, who received a wildcard to the tournament, are waiting, on Wednesday.
Karlsson faces Yuan later today in the second round of the singles tournament. The match is expected to start at 12.35. A little over an hour later, Truls Möregårdh will face Omar Assar, Egypt.
