The Swedish domestic air travel is still on a decline this year, according to new statistics from the Transport Agency.

The authority has compared the first quarter of the year with the corresponding period last year.

The domestic and international air travel combined flew 6.1 million passengers to and from Swedish airports during the first quarter of the year. This is a decrease of almost 75,000 passengers compared to the same quarter in 2024.

The trend of decreasing domestic air travel continues, now decreasing by nine percent. At the same time, international air travel increased marginally.

The cabin factor, i.e. how full the planes are, increased for both domestic and international air travel. For domestic air travel, it increased from 61.3 to 63.5 percent, and for international air travel, it rose from 73.7 percent to 75.4 percent.
