The Swedish defense industry is moving forward strongly – especially medium-sized subcontractors, reports Sveriges Radio Ekot.
This is a result of the buildup in Sweden and other allied countries, says Robert Limmergård, Secretary-General of the industry organization Security and Defense Companies, SOFF.
The entire ecosystem – that is, many subcontractors, component and subsystem suppliers – is also experiencing significant growth, he tells the radio.
SOFF's members increased their joint turnover by over 50 percent last year. The increase means that the industry as a whole generates 500 new jobs per month according to the organization. The strongest growth is seen in the defense market, i.e. the arms industry.
