"All homeschooling tips are welcome," Karlsson writes on Instagram. She is isolated from the rest of the national team.
Frida has a bit of a runny nose. She woke up this morning with a slight feeling in her throat. It has gone away, but she has a slight runny nose. It is too early to say how it will develop, but it is clear that it is worrying, says Noberius.
The symptoms are the same as those affecting William Poromaa, whose start in the men's 5,000m on Saturday has already been cancelled.
“No miracle cure”
Coordination takes place hour after hour with Karlsson, who has won two golds and one silver at the Olympics in Italy.
Unfortunately, we don't have a miracle cure, says Rickard Noberius.
Karlsson has one day to recover before Sunday's race, but must feel well enough to perform and not risk her health. Karlsson will make the decision about starting in consultation with Noberius.
If she can't be up there where she wants to be, there's no reason to expose her to it, says the national team doctor.
National team manager Anders Byström:
It's clear that Frida wants to take another gold. But it's like Rickard says: if there's a reduction in performance, it'll be difficult.
Too many gold medals?
The disease has managed to make its way into the national team despite all sorts of precautions.
We have had a very tight schedule. We live in our own hotel, separate from everyone else. We are inside the bubble. The skiers do not meet their parents and relatives, and if they do it's at a distance, says Rickard Noberius.
Maybe it's all the medal celebrations that have paid off.
With all the gold medals we won at the start, we hugged each other at the finish line. On the other hand, none of the team leaders have had any symptoms, only the skiers, says the national team doctor.
Stays in the room
Those who are still healthy should try to avoid each other.
I will stay in my room now, and then you can go downstairs and have coffee and dinner and then go back to your room and isolate yourself, says Calle Halfvarsson.
Corrected: In an earlier version, Noberius was given the wrong name in the body text.
