"The Sounding Room", a three-year project initiated by the Swedish Composers Association, has been awarded 4.8 million kronor from the Swedish Inheritance Fund.
The project is a collaboration among children and young people that gives them the opportunity to create music together. The goal is both to increase the children's ability to collaborate and to foster the joy of music. The first workshop will be in Örebro on February 24–25.
"We want to reach out to children and young people who have a great interest in music, but who do not necessarily see themselves in the role of composer," says Anna Jakobsson, director of Konstmusiksystrar and initiator of the project, in a press release.
