The franchisor Wayne's Coffee Sweden AB has been declared bankrupt. When several cafes have been unable to pay their rent, the franchisor has taken on the costs and debts, the company's largest owner, Henrik Mattsson, told the newspaper.
–These are three units that have simply not been able to handle the rent and costs, he says.
According to the bankruptcy trustee, the debts amount to at least SEK 10 million.
Another company will continue to operate the business, Henrik Mattsson says.
–It will not affect the brand or the franchisees.
Mattsson points out that purchasing power has decreased at the same time as all costs have increased due to inflation. The brand has 58 cafes in Sweden.
