Former tennis coach John-Anders "Jonte" Sjögren has died, Expressen reports. He coached Mats Wilander during his most successful years and was part of the Davis Cup winning team in 1994.

"I want him above all to be remembered as a family man. For children, grandchildren and relatives. That is the most important thing. But also that he loved sports, athletics and tennis. And above all Swedish tennis," says Sjögren's son, Johan Sjögren, to Expressen.

“Jonte” Sjögren was Mats Wilander’s coach during his most successful years and was also the Davis Cup coach for Sweden for two periods. He led Sweden to Davis Cup gold in 1994 with Stefan Edberg and Jonas Björkman on the team, among others.

John-Anders "Jonte" Sjögren turned 86 years old.
