But the phenomenon, which is caused by an unusually powerful solar storm, can also pose risks, reports P4 Jönköping.
In addition to the fantastic northern lights, it can affect vital activities quite a bit if you are unlucky and are not prepared for these storms to come, says Christoffer Hultgren, section head at the Swedish Civil Defence Agency.
The authority has therefore sent out several alerts about the storm - which is not over yet, Hultgren notes.
It is very much underway, so we can probably see the northern lights tonight too.
