He is also suspected of instigating serious weapons offenses and involving minors in criminal activity, the police write on their website.
"We now have good opportunities to investigate the crime further in the region", says Jonas Hysing, head of the regional investigation unit in Stockholm, in a comment.
The arrest took place on Thursday in cooperation with Swedish police.
"The origin is a raid in a municipality in Greater Stockholm in September this year, where two boys, 13 and 14 years old, were arrested and handed over to social services, as they sat in an apartment, equipped with a weapon each. The boys are from another part of the country", the police write.
