Swedish-developed "Helldivers 2" and "Star Wars Outlaws" have several chances to take home prizes at this year's edition of "The Game Awards", the most notable gala in the gaming world.
The co-op shooter "Helldivers 2", developed by Stockholm-based Arrowhead, made a success when it was released at the beginning of the year. Every day, tens of thousands of players go on the hunt for extraterrestrial insects and robots. The game is nominated in the categories best ongoing, best community support, best multiplayer game, and best action game.
Malmö-developed "Star Wars Outlaws", created by Massive, can win prizes such as best action/adventure, innovation in accessibility, and lead actress Humberly González can win a prize for best performance.
Malmö studio Simogo's "Lorelei and the Laser Eyes" has also been nominated for best indie game.
The little cute robot "Astro Bot" and the fantasy epic "Final Fantasy VII Rebirth" lead the nomination list with seven each, including the finest prize for game of the year.
The gala, which is broadcast for the tenth year in a row this year, takes place on the night of December 13.
