Gold in the 5,000 meters in the World Championship in canoeing in Milan a few weeks ago. On Saturday, Melina Andersson took gold again, now at the canoe marathon World Championship in Györ in Hungary where she won the long race over 25.5 kilometers.
The 26-year-old paddled in as the winner over the finish line four seconds ahead of the Hungarian Vanda Kiszli. Third came Anna Margarete Slätsjøe from Norway.
Andersson was ice-cold and sprinted away from Kiszli in the final push, put in the ignition and got a few meters down to the Hungarian, writes the Swedish Canoe Federation in a press release.
On Thursday, Andersson took silver in short track in Hungary.
