Tre Kronor took their second straight victory in the first Euro Hockey Tour tournament of the season. It was a big win over Switzerland – and Jesper Frödén was responsible for five points.

Tre Kronor followed up a 3-1 win against the Czech Republic in Ängelholm on Thursday with a whopping 8-3 win against Switzerland as Finland's Euro Hockey Tour tournament continued in Tampere on Saturday.

Jesper Frödén was responsible for two goals and three assists.

Switzerland started the game stronger with a goal after 1.41. Then the Swedes took over. Jacob de la Rose's equalizer midway through the first period was carefully reviewed by video to see if it was a high ball.

Five minutes later, Jacob de la Rose was involved in the 2-1 goal when he passed to goal scorer Fredrik Olofsson.

Switzerland equalized at the start of the second period, but Linus Johansson made it 3–2 five minutes later after a nice passing game in front of goal.

Erik Brännström pushed Tre Kronor to a 4–2 lead, debutant Isac Hedqvist extended it to 5–2 and Jesper Frödén made it 6–2 with just two seconds left in the second period.

Switzerland reduced the deficit to 3–6 with just under five minutes left in the match. And Frödén made it 7–3 just under a minute later, in an empty cage. Simon Ryfors, who was the hero of the match against the Czech Republic, finished with the 8–3 goal.

Sweden will conclude the tournament with a match against Finland on Sunday.
