The Swedish beach volleyball prospects Jacob Hölting Nilsson, 20, and Elmer Andersson, 19, impress in this week's World Championship tournament in the USA. After three matches, the pair has not lost a set and the duo is now clear for the quarterfinals.

The third straight 2–0 win came on Thursday evening when Hölting Nilsson/Andersson defeated the Australian duo Mark Nicolaidis/Izac Carracher.

We had some problems with the serve reception and did not quite keep cool on the attack side, hit a few in the block, but it's okay, says Elmer Andersson to SVT.

Even though Andersson during the first two matches has had some problems with a sprained thumb, the Swedes managed to win from behind in both sets.

The thumb feels pretty good. It hurt a lot after the first match but then it got better pretty quickly after that. It's no obstacle now, he says after the win with the numbers 24–22, 21–18.

With the win, Hölting Nilsson/Andersson won the group and are ready for the quarterfinals.
