We have made the decision to initiate an investigation due to the damage caused by these cloudbursts over Västernorrland, says Alexander Hurtig, investigation leader.
We are currently gathering facts, and then the specific and direct scope of this investigation will become clear in the future, when we see exactly what it is we want to examine and move forward and look at.
The cloudbursts on September 7 caused, among other things, two train derailments and that about 40 roads had to be closed. One person was killed in a car accident where a road was washed away. The damage, including to infrastructure, was extensive.
”They caused major traffic disruptions and had significant consequences for society”, writes SHK on its website.
The municipalities of Härnösand, Kramfors, Sollefteå and Örnsköldsvik were hardest hit by the storm.
