+ Kim Amb's sensational comeback
The 35-year-old javelin thrower suffered a serious shoulder injury in 2022, which kept him out of athletics for four years. Amb has now returned to competition, and at an international meet in Lucerne on July 16, he recorded 78.83 metres.
In an interview with SVT in April, Amb said the goal is to qualify for the European Championships in Birmingham. To reach the championships, a throw of at least 83 metres is required according to the international qualifying standard.
Amb's personal best is 86.49 metres, a result from 2020.
+ Little Sister Duplantis
World star Armand Duplantis is suffering from minor injury concerns and is out of the Swedish Championships in Uppsala. Johanna Duplantis, his younger sister, will compete in pole vaulting.
With a season's best of 4.11 metres and a personal best of 4.39, she is a medal candidate in the pole vault.
However, it is seen as unlikely that the 23-year-old will already be able to qualify for the European Championships as the international qualifying standard is 4.60.
+ Andreas Kramer makes his season debut
The Swedish 800-metre record holder has struggled with injury problems. The problems worsened during a race in January, and he has not competed since.
Despite injury concerns, Kramer was selected early for the European Championship.
"It's been tough. It's a tendon, and it's not really anything that can break, but it's hurt too much to run," Kramer told SVT in June.
Now, however, it looks like he will make his long-awaited comeback during the Swedish Championships.

Several Swedish stars, already qualified for the European Championships, are participating. Among them are the World Championship bronze medallist in the 10,000 metres, Andreas Almgren, and Daniel Ståhl, the reigning world champion in discus.
Maja Åskag has shown great form all season in the triple jump and long jump. Vanessa Kamga is going for a seventh Swedish Championship gold in the discus, and Julia Henriksson, who has competed sparingly so far this year due to a strained Achilles tendon, is competing in the 100 and 200 metres.
In addition to regular athletics events, the Swedish Championships in race walking and para-athletics will also be held during the weekend.
