A clown and actor with "unfailing comic precision" has been awarded the Swedish Arts Council's major theatre scholarship. Lasse Beischer has received 200,000 kronor for his consistent work in service of the theatre.

He has worked as an actor and director at Gothenburg City Theatre, Teater Halland, Dramaten and Helsingborg City Theatre, among other places. He is probably best known for his work with his own theatre group 1 2 3 Schtunk, which he runs together with Borta's Josefine Andersson.

Last year, the theatre group celebrated 20 years with Schtunk-influenced interpretations of “Macbeth” and “The Seventh Seal.” In April of this year, the performance “Ingmar Bergman’s Scenes from a Marriage According to 1 2 3 Schtunk” will premiere.

Beischer has also appeared in television productions such as "Macken" and "Tippen".
