The Swedish artist Lap-See Lam will receive the Norwegian art prize Lise Wilhelmsen art award of 100,000 dollars, equivalent to over 1 million kronor, writes Dagens Nyheter.
The prize was launched in 2019 and is awarded every other year. The idea is to particularly highlight contemporary artists.
Lap-See Lam, who was born in Stockholm to Chinese parents, represented Sweden, among other things, in the Nordic pavilion at the art biennale in Venice last year.
