According to the press release, Anna Camner’s painting is located on the border between surrealism and natural science. She paints slowly and with technical precision, often on small canvases or acrylic glass.

The other nominees are Anna Estarriola and Joel Slotte from Finland and Sandra Mujinga from Norway. A group exhibition featuring the work of the four will be shown at Kiasma in Helsinki in autumn 2027.

The winner will be announced in February 2028 and the exhibition will then move on to Kunstsilo in Kristiansand, Norway. Ars Fennica is awarded every other year by the Niemistö Art Foundation.
