The accident occurred at around 4 pm on Thursday afternoon.

Skaraborg Hospital said on Thursday evening that seven men in their 20s and 30s were injured. Five of them required intensive care, but none had life-threatening injuries.

One of the injured was transferred to Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg on Friday. His condition is serious but stable, according to the hospital.

The other six remained at Skaraborg Hospital at lunchtime. Their condition is described as stable.

According to the Swedish Armed Forces, all seven injured are employees of the agency. It is too early to say exactly what happened, according to press officer Jonas Beltrame-Linné.

Our focus now is to clarify how the accident could have occurred.

In addition to the police investigating the accident as a workplace accident, the Swedish Accident Investigation Board is also involved.

"We were contacted immediately after it happened and have personnel on site. We are conducting a preliminary study to determine whether to investigate the accident at the shooting range," Peter Swaffer, head of the military incidents department, told Aftonbladet.
