We expect to introduce ticket categories with lower price levels, Koya tells Dagens Industri.
In a press release, EQT writes that the new owner will be active and long-term and that, among other things, flexible pricing will be introduced to increase accessibility and make it cheaper to travel by train. New collaborations with airlines and tour operators are also planned.
Arlanda Express operates the route Stockholm Central–Arlanda Airport and in 2024, 5.3 million people traveled on the trains, according to A-train.
The train line between Stockholm and Arlanda Airport opened in 1999.
What the EQT fund Active Core Infrastructure, which specializes in long-term holdings, pays for A-train is not clear from the press release.
This summer, a final report was presented from the government's investigator Peter Norman, in which it was proposed that the state should buy into Arlanda Express or that the state should terminate or renegotiate the agreement.
EQT's Koya tells Dagens Industri that A-train will "continue to have a constructive relationship with the state."
