"The End", which will have its world premiere on May 20, was named a competition entry in the Best Short Film category at the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday.
"It feels incredible that The End is getting such a great premiere! The film's production has been extremely demanding and has taken place over three years in three different countries. At the same time, it has been surprisingly fun to make a film about death," says Niki Lindroth von Bahr in a press release.
She has previously received a number of awards. For example, her short film "My Burden" has won awards at international film festivals, including Annecy and Toronto.
