The season is over before it has even started for Swedish alpine talent Lisa Nyberg.
The 23-year-old giant slalom specialist injured her knee during training at a preseason camp in Argentine Ushuaia and after an MRI scan it is clear that she must be operated on and will be absent from competition for the entire upcoming season.
"It was during giant slalom training that Lisa got a wrong turn in a left turn, she felt directly that something in the knee was damaged", says the women's national team head coach Charlie Laband in a statement.
Lisa Nyberg has two twelfth places as best from the World Cup, the last one came in Åre in March.
The alpine World Cup season starts in Sölden on 25-26 October. In February, the big highlight of the winter is then waiting: the Olympic Games in Milano and Cortina.
