Representatives of the Swedish activists who are imprisoned in Israel will report the country to the UN for how they have treated the activists, according to their legal representative for TT. They are protected under international law, says Sena Eliküçük.

Sena Eliküçük has spoken with witnesses who have told her about how, among others, Greta Thunberg has been treated.

They testify that Greta Thunberg was pulled by the hair and forced to kiss the Israeli flag, these are serious allegations that must be investigated, she says.

Denied medicine

The information has previously been reported by, among others, The Guardian.

I intend to report these violations of human rights to the relevant UN authorities, says Eliküçük.

According to Eliküçük, several of the Swedish activists have been denied medicine, including, among others, Member of Parliament Lorena Delgado Varas. According to a statement from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, they have urged the Israeli authorities to meet medical needs and to provide the activists with food and water.

Directs criticism at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs

In an email to Greta Thunberg's relatives, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs states that Thunberg has got a rash that she suspects is from bed bugs, an email that Sena Eliküçük has also taken part of.

They are definitely being treated poorly, says Eliküçük and says that she will report the treatment of the Swedes to the relevant authorities within the UN. She does not rule out that a joint report from all the delegations will be made to the International Criminal Court ICC.

Eliküçük is also directing criticism at Swedish authorities, which she believes have not cooperated enough.

I have not received any details about the Swedish prisoners from either the Ministry for Foreign Affairs or the Swedish embassy in Tel Aviv. It is important that all abuses that occur in Israeli captivity are officially reported to me.

TT is seeking a comment from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
