In the latest so-called Eurobarometer, over 25,000 Europeans, of whom just over 1,000 were Swedes, were asked what the European Parliament should focus on.
Overall, respondents said the parliament should prioritize fighting inflation and high living costs (41 percent), followed by the economy and new jobs (35 percent).
The Swedes surveyed, however, had two completely different issues at the top: environmental and climate change (59 percent) and democracy and rule of law issues (49 percent).
A similar difference is also noticeable when it comes to what the EU as a whole should prioritize, where the Swedes put EU values and the climate at the top - while the entire EU chose defense and security and competitiveness.
The survey was conducted in November 2025.
