Hundreds of thousands of Swedes may miss out on watching Sweden's hot World Championship qualifying match against Slovenia from the comfort of their home tv sofa. The match is broadcast linearly on Viaplay Sport, but that channel is not included in the basic package from Tele2, which delivers digital TV to over one million Swedish households.

The situation was the same when the women's national team's European Championship matches were broadcast on the newly started channel Viaplay Sport last summer.

It's sad that Tele2's customers are affected again. We of course want as many as possible to be able to see our broadcasts on Viaplay Sport, says Viaplay's press chief Susanne Nylén to Expressen.

Tele2 customers need to purchase a special sports package to be able to see the match.

Those customers who have a package called TV & Streaming sport will be able to see the match, says Tele2's communications chief Mariana Prieto Abarca to Expressen.

According to Viaplay, there are no negotiations with Tele2 about the channel being included in the basic range.

The channel is included in the basic range from Telia, Telenor, Allente and Sappa, writes Expressen. The match can also be seen via the streaming service Viaplay.
