About 20 Swedes have been evacuated from Gaza. One of those who got out says to Dagens ETC that the silence came as a shock: There is no one bombing. Why aren't they bombing? Everything was calm, he says.

From Jordan's capital Amman, Eyad El Habel tells about how he and several other Swedes got out of Gaza via the Kerem Shalom border crossing.

I couldn't believe it was true. So I woke up and wondered why it was so quiet, he says to Dagens ETC.

El Habel tells the newspaper that his wife and three children are waiting for him in Egyptian Cairo. The family was split when he was stopped from leaving after the outbreak of war in 2023. They all long to get back home to Sweden.

They miss me, and they miss playing football. You know, we used to play football in the backyard at home.
