Overall, withdrawals were made from equity funds in January, while fixed-income funds had an inflow, according to statistics from the Swedish Association of Fund Managers.
North American funds saw an outflow of SEK 8.4 billion in a month when US President Donald Trump's threatening behavior gained new momentum toward Europe. There was an inflow of almost the same size into Swedish equity funds.
"Active fund savers continued to make withdrawals from US funds, and in January we also saw net outflows from global funds," says Fredrik Hård, economist at the Swedish Fund Management Association, in a press release.
