It was an incredible Swedish Saturday in Birmingham.
First, Andreas Almgren easily won European Championship gold in the 10,000 meters. A quarter of an hour later, Samuel Pihlström ran to silver in the 1,500 meters.
On Sunday evening, the Swedish duo was praised when they received their respective medals.
"I'm sorry to disappoint you, but there was no celebration. It took a very long time here with the doping control, so I ended up going back to the hotel," says Almgren.
"This is something completely different. Fun and emotional, I've worked hard for this," says Pihlström.
