Sweden beat Kazakhstan 3–1 in the round of 32 at the World Championships in London. Linda Bergström shouldered the heaviest load, beating Sarvinoz Mirkadirova 3–0 and Zauresj Akasheva 3–1. Akasheva had earlier caused concern for Sweden by winning a hard-fought match against Stina Källberg, 12–10 in the fifth set.

Filippa Bergand added the third victory, beating Anel Bachyt 3–0.

In the next round it will be much tougher for the Swedish table tennis players, as China, who beat Poland 3–1, awaits.

"Facing the Chinese women's team is probably the most difficult thing there is, regardless of sport. We have to charge and give it our all and see what's enough," says national captain Tobias Bergman.
