Sweden's Unemployment Rate Third Highest in EU

Unemployment in the eurozone fell to 6.2 percent in July, down from 6.3 percent in June, according to the statistics office Eurostat. But in Sweden it is moving sideways, at a clearly higher level.

For the entire EU, unemployment fell to 5.9 percent, down from 6.0 percent.

Swedish unemployment in July at 8.7 percent is the EU's third highest. Only Spain at 10.4 percent and Finland at 9.5 percent have higher unemployment, according to Eurostat's compilation.
