The newly built multi-family house in Lund has been given the name Pärlan, but has been voted Sweden's ugliest after a poll on the Architecture Uprising's website.

Sweden's Ugliest Building: New Lund House Sparks Debate

"Does the architect even know that it's actually 2025 in Sweden and not 1963 in Murmansk or 1972 on Sergels Square?" writes the association on its website when the winner of the Kasper Kalkon Prize is presented.

But the builder has a different view on the matter:

We are convinced that very many people think that this is a really cool house with a pretty cheeky attitude that will blend in really well in this area when it's finished, says Karin Hellgren, communications manager at housing developer Obos, to Sydsvenskan.

The house is located in the new city district Brunnshög in Lund and Karin Hellgren believes that the experience of the house will change when more houses are built nearby.
