Sweden's Trade Deficit Widens as Exports Fall in August

The value of goods exports fell to 144 billion kronor in August, down from almost 154 billion in July. At the same time, imports increased to 152.9 billion, from 150.2 in July, according to the Statistical Central Bureau (SCB).

Overall, this resulted in a deficit in trade with the outside world of 8.9 billion kronor, which can be compared to a surplus of 3.6 billion in July according to revised figures.

Compared to August last year, the value of Swedish goods exports has decreased by 5 percent, while the value of imports has fallen by 3 percent.
