Elin Lindell's middle-grade book is about shy eight-year-old Jenka, whose grandmother's ex-boyfriend is about to die. It is described as "really funny" despite its heavy subject matter.

The young adult novel "It Feels So Fake" is a satire on influencer culture: The main character Elektra's single mother has supported the family as an influencer and has revealed too much about her child.

One of Finland's nominations is also in Swedish: Malin Klingenberg and Maria Sann's "The Old Men", about three children's encounter with nasty teenagers on a playground.

The winner will be announced on October 27 and will receive approximately SEK 433,000.
