Sweden’s Inflation Rose to 1.5% in September as Electricity and Fuel Prices Increased

Inflation measured by the CPIF was 1.5 percent in September, according to Statistics Sweden’s final figures. Electricity and fuel prices pushed inflation higher.

The figures are unchanged from the preliminary figures released last week.

CPI inflation was also unchanged from the preliminary estimate, at 1.1 percent. This was up from 0.3 percent in August.

"Rising electricity and fuel prices contributed to a higher inflation rate in September," says Sofie Öhman, a price statistician at Statistics Sweden, in a press release.

The price increases were offset by, among other things, lower food and car rental prices, Statistics Sweden writes.
