"Through my visit, I want to show solidarity with Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, which have been hard hit by the conflict. I also want to discuss with the countries in the region how Sweden can contribute to a long-term solution," says Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) in a written statement.
The trip to the three countries will take place June 8-10. She will then meet with the foreign ministers of each country and representatives of Swedish companies there.
