The Czech Republic will be Canada's opponent in the quarterfinals of the women's hockey tournament at the Winter Olympics in Italy. That became clear after Canada crushed Finland 5–0.

The Swedish women's hockey team has impressed so far during the tournament and has picked up four straight wins in the group, which secured them the group victory.

The team also did so with a crushing goal difference of 18 goals scored and only two conceded.

Now the Czech Republic awaits; it finished third in the other group. Sweden will not have to face big nations like the USA and Canada thanks to their group victory.

The match between Finland and Canada had been postponed after the stomach illness that ravaged the Finnish squad at the start of the tournament.

Sweden's Thea Johansson leads the hockey tournament's scoring with four goals in four games.
