Sweden took control of the match in the eighth end, with the score tied at 3–3, after a miss by the Japanese team and a well-aimed stone by Isabella Wranå that gave Sweden five points.
Japan then conceded after the ninth end.
"Our goal has been to win a medal. Of course we wanted to be in the final, but we are so happy about the match today and that we won the bronze," said Isabella Wranå.
The championship was Team Wranå's first senior World Championship.
"I'm very, very proud of my team, they've played so well all week. We've had some ups and downs, but we always learn and come back stronger," she said.
The bronze is Sweden's first World Cup medal on the women's side since 2019.
