When I make up my mind, there is no one who can run away from me, she says to SVT.
Prior to the final stretch, Sweden was in third place, chasing Norway and Finland, with Switzerland at their heels. Then Lundberg made a route choice that became completely decisive.
At one of the last controls, the competitors from Norway and Finland chose to run straight ahead. Lundberg stamped, turned back and took an alternative route, a move that had an immediate effect.
It's something I learned after the European Championship, where I didn't quite trust myself, but here I had really read up on the controls and knew that it's a good route choice, so I felt like "now we're going for it", she explains.
Lundberg's offensive running took her all the way to a decisive sprint against Switzerland's star Simona Aebersold and there the Swede drew the longest straw.
It's incredibly nice, both for the team but also for me. Today I was the best, it's a wonderful feeling, says Lundberg.
The winning team consisted, apart from Lundberg, of Alva Sonnesson, Jonatan Gustafsson and Martin Regborn.
