Russian and Belarusian athletes will be allowed to compete under their national flags at the Paralympics, prompting the Ukrainian team to boycott the opening ceremony on March 6, and the team has called on other countries to do the same.

Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Poland have joined the boycott, according to SVT.

"We will not boycott - we have known for two years that we will not be at the opening ceremony. It is in Verona - from Cortina, start to finish it is around twelve hours. If you have trained for this for four years, you will not go there," says squad manager Niclas Grön.

However, Grön is clear that he does not support participation under the Russian flag.

"It's absolutely not something I support."

At the Olympics, Russians and Belarusians competed as neutral athletes.
