Just like in the European Championship premiere this summer, Sweden faces Denmark on Tuesday in a decisive match in the Nations League group play. It's a bit special to meet them so close to the championship when we have them in the group, says Amanda Nildén.

On Tuesday, the Swedish women's national football team is waiting for a home match against Denmark. Sweden needs a point to win the group and reach the semi-finals in the Nations League.

When Sweden plays its European Championship premiere on July 4, it will also be against Denmark.

It becomes a little special when you get to face the same team you will soon face in a championship. But we know Denmark well, have met them not so long ago and many matches before. Of course, it's not something we think about really, says Jonna Andersson>

Second Round

Including the first meeting between Sweden and Denmark in the Nations League group stage, the national teams will have met three times in under five months.

It's rare to meet a team three times in such a short time, it feels like, but that's what it is. It will be interesting to meet them now, and then it will be even more interesting to meet them a third time at the European Championship, says Jennifer Falk.

The matches against "di røde" become even more fun due to the rivalry between Sweden and Denmark, thinks Amanda Nildén.

It's super fun, also now when it's so important. They're always super physical and it always gets a little heated, but it's those matches you play for, it's what's fun, says Nildén.

"Special"

Assistant national team coach Magnus Wikman does not feel that the rivalry between the countries is what it once was.

It's a little special. But it feels more and more, like with many countries – they play with each other in club teams, they are teammates and have met – so I don't think it's that special in this case, says Wikman.

What do you think about Denmark?

I think Denmark is a good football team, but not "good enough".
