"Sweden and the EU must immediately condemn how the violence is affecting children and demand that Israel cease and allow humanitarian aid to enter", says Cecilia Chatterjee-Martinsen, head of Save the Children's international operations, in a statement.
This is happening against the backdrop of the extensive ground operation that Israel claims to have launched on Sunday.
"We are devastated that the violence is escalating once again with the ground offensive. At least 18,000 children have died in Gaza, and if the attacks continue while humanitarian aid is blocked, the number will increase day by day. Children are now being killed by bombs, starvation, and diseases. When do our leading politicians think the limit has been exceeded?", says Chatterjee-Martinsen.
